Kootenay Computer is seeking a Computer Hardware and Network Technician for it’s IT solution services in the Cranbrook area of British Columbia, Canada. Kootenay Computer handles technology business needs from concept to sales through support and service. All IT solutions are tailor-made, based on the newest techniques and security standards. We are focused on small and medium businesses as well as home offices and telecommuters in the Kootenay area.

Specific Skills
Dell Hardware certification (DCSE (Dell Certified System Expert)) preferred as Kootenay Computer is an Dell Premier partner expanding their relationship with Dell. Establish, operate, maintain and co-ordinate the use of local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs), mainframe networks, hardware, software and related computer equipment. Set up and maintain Internet and intranet Web sites and Web-server hardware and software, monitor and optimize network connectivity and performance. Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, operating system software, software applications. Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade server hardware and software, Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade cloud controlled hardware (Switches, WIFI Access points), Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade Microsoft Cloud services (Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint & OneDrive) Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones and network devices, provide backup and restore tasks and setup specific backup/restore procedures, Provide problem-solving services to device and network

Computer and Technology Knowledge
Networking structures like TCP/IP, extensive  knowledge of networking architectures like WiFi, xDSL, WAN, LAN, 3G/4G/5G; Datacenter infrastructures data- and powerlines; Microsoft Windows, MacOS and Linux (i.e. RedHat); Internet; Database software; MAC; Device drivers; Networking software; Networking hardware; Networking security; Intranet; Servers; File management software; Security software; Mail server software; Communication software; Programming languages; Desktop applications; Multimedia ; ITSM Systems
